On 24th of May, we came back to Jinonice, to the site of our installationWe Should Have a Talk. The piece, which aims to help open up a conversation about gender inequality, became the setting for a discussion on feminism and on educating people about the topic. Taking part in the debate were Markéta Štěpánová from Gender Studies and Agáta Prokopová from Nesehnutí, from the F*ÉRA programme.
And as the debate went on, statements closely tied to the topic kept reappearing on the wall — printed using Wall-ink’s vertical printing.
What comes to mind when you think of feminism?
Teachers being hard on the boys because they don’t pay attention and just disrupt the class (which isn’t always true); and on the other hand, teachers not always treating girls as equals, as if we were less clever and knew less.
After the debate, many of you stopped by for a lemonade — and some of you lent a hand and helped with further touch-ups to the installation.
If that was you, thank you, and we can’t wait to see you again.
