How does a city come to exist? Not only in the offices of architects and officials, but also in dialogues on squares, in stories that we share with one another, and in small ideas that gradually grow into something bigger. That’s why the project Your City, Your Space was created by the Participation Office at the Prague Institute of Planning and Development. At each stop, we’ll place our transparent panel with the question “What do you value most about Prague?” — so everyone can join in and leave their mark.

The Plexiglass by PRAHO! = Your answer, your trace

This panel will slowly transform into a vast map of responses.

Perhaps for you it will be just a few words — a memory, a place you love. But it is precisely these subtle voices that together form the portrait of the city. Come and leave yours.

Second and third stops: Kunratice and Slivenec

This autumn, You can experience this playful form of city-making in two locations:

  • Kunratice – Thursday, 9 October, 11:00–18:00, small square in front of the town hall
  • Slivenec – Thursday, 16 October, 11:00–18:00, park by the Návesní pond

Each event will offer a mix of playful activities, discussion points, and data visualisations showing how Prague works and transforms. Everyone is welcome to take part – children, adults, and seniors alike.

Why all this?

Public participation brings unique local knowledge into city planning, strengthens trust between residents and institutions, and helps find paths that serve as many people as possible. That’s why it’s important that as many of us as possible take part.

The city isn’t something “out there.” The city is us. And every answer, every idea, every “what I value about Prague” together creates the living image of the shared space we call home.
