About us

ART AS A TOOL FOR PARTICIPATION, EQUALITY AND DIALOGUE

PRAHO! project is a cultural non-profit organisation based in Prague, focusing on participatory art, public-space interventions, and engaging local communities in collective storytelling.

Since 2025 we have been expanding our activities beyond the Czech Republic—primarily through international grant projects and partner networks. A key part of this expansion is the establishment of our sister organisation, STOCKHOLM! project in Sweden, which ensures our presence and activities directly in Stockholm.

Our work is fully bilingual (Czech/English) and all projects are conducted in an international context. We create and share methodologies for participatory practice, team care, and impact evaluation. This enables us to transfer know-how between countries and partners, while ensuring a high level of expertise and transparency.

WHAT PARTICIPATION LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

Photos and visual records from our projects and interventions show how we connect participation, art, and public space. Each project is unique, yet all share common principles — community engagement, equality, and creative dialogue.

Our Partners

INTERNATIONAL REACH AS THE FOUNDATION OF OUR WORK

Our projects are built on collaboration with local and international organisations that share our values of participation, inclusion, and sustainability. Partnerships enable us not only to deliver concrete activities, but also to share know-how, strengthen capacities, and create a common language between Prague, Stockholm, and other European cities.

International reach is essential to us—we believe that only through a reliable partner network can we achieve long-term impact, innovation, and genuine social change.

A complete overview of our partners is available here.

Current Projects

OUR CURRENT GRANT-FUNDED AND CREATIVE PROJECTS

In 2025 we received our first European grant, which allowed us to systematically develop our international work. At the same time, we have a strong, long-term presence in the Czech Republic, where we carry out participatory art projects, original creative work, and public-space interventions. An overview of PRAHO! project’s work to date can be found here.

Upcoming Projects and Applications

FROM LOCAL PROJECTS TO EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIPS

We are currently developing several new projects that build on our long-term work in equality, participation, and art in public space. Our international activities are not incidental—they are part of a planned, long-term growth strategy for PRAHO! project for 2025–2027.

A key principle for us is diversified funding. We do not rely on a single source of support; instead, we combine European programmes, Nordic funds, and national grants. This ensures stability, sustainability, and the ability to develop projects across countries and contexts.

Our current grant activity includes:

  • CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (European Commission): Projects focused on combating discrimination, strengthening equality, and civic participation.

  • Horizon Europe – Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society: Research-innovation projects with an emphasis on the social impact of art and cultural policy.

  • Creative Europe (CREA): Cooperation between cultural and creative organisations across Europe, strengthening mobility and co-production.

  • Nordic Culture Fund: Support for projects connecting the Nordic countries with other European partners.

  • Czech local grants (for PRAHO! project): Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Prague City Hall, and other national support programmes.

  • Open calls and thematic calls: We continuously engage in smaller calls and open calls that expand our capacity to experiment, test new formats, and respond to current social issues.

All our applications and projects are guided by our Manifesto, which defines the values of participation, inclusion, and sustainability. The manifesto serves as a framework for our decision-making and for how we build international partnerships.

PRAHO! project is committed to promoting gender equality across all its activities. Our Gender Equality Plan is publicly available here.

We build our projects and grants on transparency — you can also consult our annual reports.
